August 16, 2024 – At the International Building Expo 2024, German Consuegra, President & General Manager of MACORP, addressed a diverse audience of customers, investors, and prospective clients during a “Sip and Chat” networking session. Consuegra celebrated Guyana’s impressive progress and its commitment to sustainability.
Consuegra, alongside key speakers Diego Messias, District Sales Manager at Caterpillar; Gustavo Tapia, Caterpillar Power Solutions Manager; Jordi Pinol, Sales and Marketing Manager; and Rodny Jaramillo, Equipment Management Systems Manager at MACORP, underscored the critical role of technology in balancing economic growth with sustainability.
Consuegra highlighted the Cat® Reman program as a significant example of how to support sustainability. “This program offers effective and affordable repair options for our customers’ equipment, with substantial savings of up to 60% of the costs. But also, Cat® Reman parts and components contribute significantly to a healthier environment by requiring 80-90% less new materials and 65-87% less energy than a new one. When considering sustainability, think of MACORP and Caterpillar,” he said.
Diego Messias elaborated on Caterpillar products integrated design philosophy, which enhances performance and fuel efficiency by ensuring that each machine’s hydraulics, transmission, and frame, work in harmony. “Our global Fuel Guarantee Program further supports sustainability by ensuring machines do not exceed a specified fuel consumption rate. If consumption is higher, we provide compensation with parts and services,” Messias explained.
Gustavo Tapia, Caterpillar Power Solutions Manager, emphasized Caterpillar’s dedication to advancing sustainability through new technologies. “We are continuously developing technologies for our machines and gensets to reduce our carbon footprint,” he stated. Tapia also expressed enthusiasm about Guyana’s first hybrid project, which integrates gensets, solar panels, and energy storage to support the country’s economic and sustainability goals.
Jordi Pinol and Rodny Jaramillo spoke about MACORP’s commitment to delivering top-tier machines and technology. They highlighted how MACORP empowers customers to monitor and optimize their equipment for enhanced efficiency and productivity.
The International Building Expo 2024, held at Providence Stadium, concluded after four days of showcasing industry leaders and innovations, reinforcing the critical role of the Construction sector in Guyana’s economic position.
