MACORP proudly announces the successful graduation of nine aspiring technicians from its 16th Heavy Equipment Maintenance and Electric Power Generation Training program. The ceremony, held at MACORP’s Providence location on Friday, marked a significant milestone in the careers of these promising individuals.

Miguel Oviedo, MACORP’s Training Director, spoke passionately about the abundant career opportunities awaiting the graduates in Guyana’s flourishing economy. He commended the trainees for their dedication and encouraged them to explore the global trainee technicians’ program, opening doors to a world of possibilities.

Azeem Ali, a former participant whose journey began 12 years ago, shared his sentiments on the profound impact the program has had on his career at MACORP. Ali has since contributed to numerous critical projects, including Lisa Destiny, and is now one of MACORP’s team members proudly serving the marine/oil and gas sector.

German Consuegra, MACORP’s President and General Manager highlighted the company’s commitment to partnership with various sectors to foster Guyana’s development. Emphasizing the superiority of CAT products in the market, he underscored their unparalleled capacity, capabilities, efficiency, and state-of-the-art technology, providing exceptional value and support to customers.

“We welcome you to stay and grow together, helping to build Guyana,” Consuegra remarked, noting the critical role and demand for such talent and skills in the country. This training encompasses both theoretical knowledge
sessions as well as practical skills training within a period of six months and trainees are given the opportunity to begin their career at MACORP upon completion of the program.

Mark Roberts, Senior Education Officer at the Ministry of Education, commended MACORP for its inclusive approach, particularly in encouraging female participation in non-traditional sectors. One female was among those who graduated. Nateisha Naomi, specialized in Electrical Power Generation Level 1 while the eight males specialized in Heavy Equipment Maintenance Level 1 Training.

Roberts applauded the company’s provision of up-to-date equipment and training, essential for the development of young talent in Guyana. Addressing the graduands, Roberts urged them to embody the knowledge gained from the program, emphasizing their pivotal role in Guyana’s history. “This program equips you to be relevant to our country’s progress,” he remarked, stressing the urgency of producing skilled individuals to meet the nation’s needs. Recognizing excellence, the top performers—Alex Bahadur, Nateisha Naomi, Imran Mohamed, and Tyrese Rose—were acknowledged for their outstanding achievements. The group collectively expressed gratitude for the invaluableknowledge and experience gained, propelling them toward a promising future.
